Bot statuses: active, paused, error
A Signal bot has no separate “Status” line, unlike Grid or DCA bots. Its state is made up of three lines of the card — Auto-trade:, Channel:, Active trades: — and of the messages from the notification bot. Below is how to read that state and what to do in each case.
Where it is in the bot
Main menu → 🤖 Signal Bots → the bot. A summary of all bots (“2 active / 3 total”) is in 📊 My Bots (Overview).
How to read the state
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-trade: ON, Channel: connected | The bot is working: it reads the channel signals and opens trades | Nothing; watch the notifications |
| Auto-trade: OFF | “Paused”: no trades are opened from signals. Auto-trade never switches itself on | Press Auto-trade in the card |
| Channel: not connected | There is no signal source | Connect channel |
| Active trades: 0 while auto-trade is on | There were no signals, or they were skipped with a stated reason | Check the “⚠️ Signal not processed” notifications |
| The bot is not counted as active in the overview | The bot has no API keys (a draft) | Finish creating the bot; if the keys are set, go by the bot card |
When the bot is “paused” against your will
Trades from signals stop being opened although auto-trade stays ON. The bot always sends the reason:
- “⛔ Signal trading is disabled for your account … The signal was received but no trade was opened. Please contact the administrator.” — a restriction at the account level, only support can remove it.
- “🔒 View-only mode: the subscription is not active, new trades are not opened. Subscribe via the «💳 Subscription» menu.” — see What happens when the subscription ends.
- “⏳ Grace period until 30.09.2026: open trades are managed, new trades are not opened until the subscription is renewed.”
- “🔒 This bot is locked by the plan limit: you have more bots than the subscription allows. Stop or delete another bot, or upgrade the plan.” — see Plans and bot limit.
- “Your account is locked: …” — trading operations are closed, the reason is given in the message after the colon.
- You left the channel — the bots connected to it are unsubscribed automatically. Join again and connect the bot once more — see How to disconnect from a channel.
The kill switch does not stop Signal bots: on a drawdown it pauses Grid and DCA bots. If you also need to stop the auto-trading from channels, switch Auto-trade off by hand in the bot cards.
Errors
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| “API keys are invalid. (You can update them in bot settings)” / “API keys do not have the required permissions” | Reissue the key on Bybit with the required permissions and update it: Bot settings → Update API keys |
| “⚠️ Bot "MY_FUTURES" lost connection to the exchange after N reconnection attempts. Check your internet connection and exchange availability.” | Wait: once the connection is back, the bot reconciles the trades with the exchange itself — see Connection to the exchange lost |
| “The bot was deleted and is no longer available for new operations. Please create a new bot.” | The bot was deleted; create a new one |
Drafts
If you started creating a bot and did not send the keys, the record stays a draft and is deleted after 7 days. That is not an error — simply start the creation again.
Limits and allowed values
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Switching auto-trade on | Only by the owner, by hand |
| Keeping an unfinished bot | 7 days |
| Kill switch | Does not switch Signal bots off |
