Deleting your account
There is no “delete account” button in the bot: full data deletion is done by support at your request. But the main part — stopping trading and revoking access to the exchange — you can do yourself in a few minutes.
What it is
Your Sync account is tied to your Telegram. It holds exchange bots with API keys, trading settings, connected channels, trade history and the subscription. Deleting the account means deleting all of this with no way to restore it.
How to switch everything off yourself
- Close or cancel open trades (see Close or cancel a trade) and stop the Grid and DCA bots.
- Delete the exchange bots: main menu → 🤖 Signal Bots → bot → Bot settings → Delete bot → Confirm. While a bot has active trades it cannot be deleted — the bot answers: “The bot currently has active trades. To delete it, wait for them to complete or close them manually”. More on this in How to change or delete an exchange bot.
- Delete the API keys in your Bybit account — after that nobody can use them.
- If auto-renewal is on, switch it off: 💳 Subscription → ⏹ Disable auto-renewal. Otherwise the charge for the next period will go through on schedule.
- Disconnect the notification bot with the /stop command in the chat with @Sync_trading_notifications_bot.
After these steps the bot does nothing on the exchange and sends nothing. The settings and history stay in the account — you can come back at any time by creating a new bot.
How to delete the account completely
Write to support from the same Telegram account you use in the bot — that is how support makes sure the request comes from the owner. Say that you want the account and all data deleted. Do the steps above first: support does not close your trades on the exchange and does not delete the keys in your Bybit account.
What is important to know
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Will the money for the remaining subscription period be refunded | Refunds are made by support according to the rules in 💳 Subscription → 📄 Terms; a deletion request by itself does not start a refund — ask for it separately |
| What happens to open positions on the exchange | Sync does not withdraw or transfer funds. Close the positions yourself before deletion, otherwise they stay on the exchange with nobody managing them |
| What if you simply block the bot in Telegram | The data and keys stay in Sync, and the bots keep trading while the subscription is valid. Delete the exchange bots first |
| Can you come back after deletion | Check with support when you make the request; deleted settings and history are not restored |
| Affiliate balance | Before deletion, request a payout in the 🤝 Affiliate section if you have reached the minimum amount |
Common situations and what the bot says
- “The bot currently has active trades…” — close the trades, then repeat the bot deletion.
- “The bot was deleted and is no longer available for new operations. Please create a new bot.” — the bot is already deleted; the buttons under old messages no longer work.
- Notifications keep arriving after /stop — make sure the command was sent in the chat with the notification bot and not to the main bot.
