How to change or delete an exchange bot
An exchange bot is the link to your Bybit account: the market type (Spot or Futures) and a pair of API keys. On a finished bot you can change the name and the keys; the market type cannot be changed — for another market you create a new bot.
What it is

There is no one-click way to switch a bot: to move from spot to futures (or the other way round) or to another exchange account, create a new bot or copy the existing one, move the channels and strategies to it, and then delete the old one.
Where in the bot
Main menu → 🤖 Signal Bots → choose a bot → Bot settings. There are four buttons here: Rename bot, Update API keys, Copy bot, Delete bot.
How to delete a bot
- Close the bot's active trades or wait for them to finish. Grid and DCA bots on these keys are stopped when the bot is deleted — it is better to stop them yourself in advance and make sure the positions are closed.
- Bot settings → Delete bot. The bot shows the card and asks: “Are you sure you want to delete this bot?”
- Tap Confirm. The bot disappears from the 🤖 Signal Bots list and its slot in the plan limit is freed.
- For safety, delete this key pair in your Bybit account as well — a deleted bot cannot be restored, and it no longer needs the keys.
How to move to another market or account
- 🤖 Signal Bots → Create bot — choose the trading type and send the new keys (see Exchange bot and API keys). Or Bot settings → Copy bot: the bot asks you to “send API keys as text separated by a space” and creates a copy with the same trading settings (see Copying a bot).
- Connect channels to the new bot and create Grid and DCA bots on it.
- Wait for the old bot's trades to close and delete it. While both exist, each takes a slot in the plan (see Plans and bot limit).
Example
You have a Signal bot “MY_SPOT” on spot, and the channel started publishing futures signals. Create a Bybit Futures bot named “MY_FUTURES” with a separate key pair that has the derivatives trading permission, and connect the channel to it. Let the spot trades of “MY_SPOT” finish, then go to Bot settings → Delete bot → Confirm. With a plan for 2 bots, both slots are in use until the old one is deleted.

Common mistakes and what the bot says
- “The bot currently has active trades. To delete it, wait for them to complete or close them manually” — close or cancel the trades (the bot immediately shows the list of current trades) and repeat the deletion.
- “The bot was deleted and is no longer available for new operations. Please create a new bot.” — you tapped a button under an old message of an already deleted bot.
- “You already have a bot with this name, choose another” / “The chosen name is already taken by another of your bots” — choose a different name when renaming or creating.
- “This API key pair already exists in the system” — a copy needs a new key pair.
