Exchange accounts: connect, change keys, delete
An exchange account on the site is the same as an “exchange bot” in the bot: the link to your Bybit account, the market (spot or futures) and a key pair. Any key change from the site takes effect only after confirmation in Telegram.
What it is
The site explains it itself: “We check the key on the exchange and save it only after you confirm in Telegram — so a stolen cabinet sign-in cannot connect someone else's keys unnoticed.” The key is checked on the exchange before it is saved: with a wrong key the account does not appear.
Where on the site
Portfolio → Accounts → the Add account button. The account card has the Account management block with the Change keys, Rename and Delete account buttons. In the mini app this card is opened by the 👛 Account button on the Signal bot card in Telegram — renaming and deleting a bot is now possible only here.
How to connect an account
- Tap Add account — the “Connect an exchange account” window: Exchange and market, Account name (“For example, Main”), API Key, API Secret. The rights hint: “The key needs the right to trade on the chosen market: for futures — Derivatives / Contract (orders and positions), for spot — Spot Trading. Do not give withdrawal or transfer rights — they are not needed.” How to create a key — in the keys article.
- Tap Send for confirmation. The site waits: “Waiting for confirmation in Telegram (up to 15 minutes)…”.
- The notification bot sends “🔐 Connecting an exchange account” with the market, name, the start of the key, device and IP. Tap ✅ Confirm — “we check the key on the exchange and save it”. If the request is not yours — 🚫 This was not me: the request is cancelled and all cabinet sessions are closed.
- The bot replies “✅ Done: the key was checked on the exchange and saved. You can see the result in the web cabinet too.”, the site — “The account is connected.” If the exchange rejected the key: “⚠️ The key was not accepted: … Fix it and send it again in the web cabinet.” — the site shows the Fix and send again button.
Change keys, rename, delete
- Change keys — “The new key replaces the current one after you confirm in Telegram. The account bots keep working with the new key.” Telegram receives “🔐 Changing API keys” with the same buttons. While the account has open trades or running Grid/DCA bots, a new key is accepted only from the same exchange account.
- Rename — a name of 1 to 40 characters: letters, digits, spaces, underscores and - . ( ) #. The name must not match the name of another of your accounts.
- Delete account — not possible with open trades or running Grid/DCA bots: close the trades and stop the bots first. Deletion cannot be undone; afterwards the bot writes “🗑 The exchange account «…» was deleted in the web cabinet.” with the device and IP and the 🔐 End all sessions button.
Limits and allowed values
| Parameter | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation in Telegram | 15 minutes | Then “The request has expired — send it again.” |
| Account name | 1–40 characters | Letters, digits, spaces, underscores and - . ( ) # |
| Key rights | Trading on the chosen market | No withdrawals or transfers |
| Deletion | No open trades or running Grid/DCA | Otherwise refused |
Typical errors and what the site says
- “The request was declined in Telegram («This was not me»). All cabinet sessions are closed — sign in again.”
- “The web cabinet session the keys were sent from is already closed — the keys were not saved. Sign in to the cabinet and send them again.” — the session was ended before the confirmation.
- “The account name must be 1 to 40 characters: letters, digits, spaces, underscores and - . ( ) #”
- “The key could not be saved because of a temporary failure. Check the account in the cabinet and send the keys again if needed.”
Only in the bot
🔐 Log in with Bybit — the key is created on the exchange automatically, nothing to copy (details). On the site the key and secret are typed in as text.
