“PnL mismatch detected”
From time to time the bot compares the profit it counted itself with what the exchange shows. If the difference is noticeable, a warning arrives.
What it means
The full text:
⚠️ PnL mismatch detected
Your Grid bot #12 (BTCUSDT) shows PnL that differs from exchange data by 5%.
Local PnL: 100.00 USDT Exchange PnL: 95.00 USDT
This may be due to a sync delay with the exchange. No automatic corrections were made — please verify trade history on exchange manually. If mismatch persists, contact support.
The bot does not correct anything by itself: it only shows both figures. Trading continues.
Why it happens
- A sync delay — the exchange has not returned the latest fills yet. This is the most common reason; if the message does not repeat, nothing needs to be done.
- Manual actions on the exchange. A Grid bot does not count the profit or loss of a position you closed yourself: the bot's Realized P&L does not change, while the exchange has a result. DCA, on the contrary, includes your sale in the PnL of the cycle.
- A partial liquidation or an automatic position reduction by the exchange — the trade continues on what is left, and the result of the forced close appears in the exchange history.
What to do
- Open the trade history for this pair on Bybit for the period the bot was running and compare it with the fills in the bot card.
- Think back whether you closed the position or a part of it by hand and whether there was a liquidation — the bot marks such events with separate notifications.
- If the message came once and does not repeat — nothing needs to be done.
- If the figures matter for your accounting, rely on the exchange history: it is the primary source.
When to contact support
If the mismatch repeats from message to message or grows while there were no manual actions and no liquidations — write to support: the bot number, both figures from the message and an export of the Bybit history for the period.
