Connecting a channel in three steps

Connecting means two Sync bots among the channel administrators and one command in the channel itself. After each step the bot posts in the channel what to do next.

Where it is in the bot

Main menu → 📡 Signals → 🔗 Connect my channel. On the screen 🔗 Connecting your channel to SYNC there are the buttons 1️⃣ Add the main bot and 2️⃣ Add the service bot: Telegram itself will ask you to pick the channel and grant the permissions. The same screen shows the name of the service bot assigned to you.

How to set it up

Step 1. The main bot as a channel administrator

Add the main bot @sync_trading_bot as an administrator and grant it the permissions:

The bot will post in the channel: “✅ Step 1 of 3 done: the main SYNC bot is connected to the channel.” and name the service bot to add next. If the Post messages permission is missing, you will get this prompt as a private message with a note that the permission has to be enabled.

Step 2. The service bot as a channel administrator

Add the service bot from the prompt (@…) as an administrator. It needs no extra permissions — administrator status is enough. The bot will confirm: “✅ Service bot @… is connected to the channel. Both bots are in place — everything is ready!”

If the service bot is added before the main one, nothing is wrong: “✅ The service bot is connected to the channel. Now add the main SYNC bot as a channel administrator — with the 'Post messages' permission so it can post status updates right in the channel.”

Step 3. The /activate command in the channel

Post the message /activate in the channel. The bot replies:

🚀 SYNC channel activated! Signals from this channel are now processed automatically. You can stop at any time with /deactivate.

Next — Checking after connection.

Disconnecting and reconnecting

• /deactivate in the channel — signal processing stops, the bots stay in the channel. The reply: “⏸ SYNC channel deactivated. Signals from this channel are no longer processed. Turn back on: /activate.” While the channel is off, posts are not parsed; this command does not close signals that are already open.
• Removing either of the two bots from the administrators — processing stops and the owner gets a notification. To resume: put the bot back and send /activate.
• Renaming the channel is picked up automatically.

Common mistakes and what the bot says

• “Almost there! Only the service bot is missing. Add @… as a channel administrator (no extra permissions needed) and send /activate again.” — step 2 was not done.
• “ℹ️ The SYNC channel is already active — everything is running. Stop: /deactivate.” — activating again is not needed.
• “ℹ️ The SYNC channel is already off. Turn on: /activate.” — /deactivate for a channel that is already off.
• “This channel is not registered in SYNC — nothing to deactivate. To connect the channel, add the main bot as an administrator and follow the instructions.” — /deactivate in a channel that has never been connected.
• “⚠️ No service bot is available right now, so the connection cannot be completed. Please contact support — we will fix this quickly.” — write to support, this is resolved quickly.
• No prompt in the channel after step 1 — the main bot has no Post messages permission; the prompt went to you as a private message.
