“You are using … of 500 active orders on the exchange”

A warning that the Bybit account is running out of room for active orders.

What it means

The full text: “⚠️ You are using 400 of 500 active orders on the exchange (80%). At 500 the exchange will start rejecting new orders. Consider stopping some Grid/DCA bots.”

  • The limit of 500 active orders applies to the whole account (to one API key pair), not to a single trading pair. All your orders on the exchange are counted — those placed by bots and the manual ones.
  • The warning arrives at 80 % and repeats no more often than once every 30 minutes.
  • The bot keeps a reserve of 20 orders and will not place new ones if they do not fit into it — a grid may be left with empty levels.
  • The exchange also has a separate order limit per symbol; for large grids the active window solves it.

Why it happens

  • Several Grid bots with many levels on the same keys: every level is a separate order.
  • DCA bots with many simultaneously active orders.
  • Manual orders on the same account.

What to do

  1. Work out who is taking up the limit: 📊 My Bots (Overview) shows all bots; for Grid the number of orders is roughly the number of levels, for DCA there is the line “📋 Orders: 8 (active: 3)” in the bot card.
  2. Stop or pause the bots you do not need right now.
  3. Turn on the active window for Grid — only a part of the levels around the price is kept on the exchange (from 1 to 200, or all levels), the others are pulled in as the price moves.
  4. Reduce the number of active orders for DCA (from 1 to 20): “Fewer orders = lower load on the exchange order limit.”
  5. Remove unnecessary manual orders on Bybit.

If the limit is already used up, the bot reports “⚠️ Exceeded the limit of simultaneous limit orders for this symbol on the exchange.” or a similar refusal. Reduce the number of levels or turn on the active window — every 5 minutes the Grid bot compares its orders with the exchange and places the missing ones itself.

When to contact support

If the warning arrives while your bots and manual orders together clearly have fewer than 400 active orders — write to support with the name of the exchange bot.
