Default protective settings
A new Signal bot is created with settings that make it hard to lose much: a small share of the balance per trade, isolated margin and a ban on trading without a stop. The reset button brings the same values back.
What it is
| Setting | Default value | Why it is like that |
|---|---|---|
| Simultaneous open trades | no limit | each trade amount is small anyway |
| Auto-close on TP/SL | off | the trade is not cancelled if the price is already at the target |
| Entry amount calculation | Balance percentage, 5 % | one trade cannot take more than 5 % of the account |
| Fixed amount (if you switch to it) | 100 USDT | — |
| Risk percentage (if you switch to it) | 5 % | — |
| Fixed risk (if you switch to it) | 20 USDT | — |
| First Entry price increase | 0 % | entries exactly as in the signal |
| Distribution by Entry orders | 1–5 at 20 %, 6–10 at 0 % | exactly 100 % across the first five entries |
| Distribution by TP orders | 1–5 at 20 %, 6–10 at 0 % | exactly 100 % across the first five targets |
| Entry distribution (strategy) | not set — the manual map | — |
| Entry Zone | off | — |
| Custom Stop-Loss | off, the stop comes from the signal; preset 20 % | the trader knows their own stop better |
| The “no SL in signal” policy | 🚫 Skip | no stop, no trade |
| SL % mode | 📈 by price | — |
| Trailing SL | off; presets Breakout 10 %, Breakeven (target) TP #1, Moving 1 → TP #1, Moving 2 → TP #2 | — |
| Trailing Entry / Trailing TP | off | entry and exit exactly as in the signal |
| Directions | LONG and SHORT both on | — |
| Margin type | Isolated | the loss is limited to the margin of the position |
| Leverage | from the signal | a warning at 25x and above |
| Position mode | One-Way | one trade per pair |
| Blacklist | empty | — |
Where it is in the bot
Signal bot card → Trading settings → Apply default settings. The bot asks: “Apply default settings?” — after you confirm, the whole configuration of the bot returns to the values from the table.
How it works
Three settings from the table hold most of the risk in check:
- 🚫 Skip when there is no stop — a futures trade with no protection simply does not open. If your channels often publish signals without a stop and you need those trades, switch to 🛡 Default SL and check the percentage in Custom Stop-Loss.
- Isolated — on liquidation only the margin of that position is lost, not the whole account.
- 5 % of the balance — even a run of losing trades in a row will not zero out the deposit.
What is not protected by default and needs your attention:
- leverage from the signal — if the trader publishes 50x, the trade opens at 50x. The bot warns in the notification but does not ask for confirmation. To cap the leverage, set your own in Margin & leverage → Leverage, for example
all-5; - no trade limit — with an active channel, dozens of trades at 5 % each can be open at once. The limit is set in General → Simultaneous open trades.
Example with a calculation
Balance 1,000 USDT, default settings, a LONG signal with 20x leverage and a stop 3 % from the entry.
- Trade amount: 5 % of 1,000 = 50 USDT. Position: 50 × 20 = 1,000 USDT.
- The stop from the signal at −3 %: loss 1,000 × 3 % = 30 USDT — that is 60 % of the trade margin, but only 3 % of the account.
- The same signal without a stop: the trade does not open (the 🚫 Skip policy).
- If Cross and the ⚠️ No SL policy had been set, a 5 % fall (50 USDT) would have eaten the whole trade margin, and a 10 % fall (100 USDT) — twice the margin — would have pulled on the free balance of the account.
Limits and allowed values
| Parameter | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Reset | the whole bot configuration | with a confirmation |
| Scope | this Signal bot only | other bots have their own settings |
| Margin type after the reset | Isolated | applied to the whole exchange account |
Common errors and what the bot says
- “Apply default settings?” — this is a confirmation request, not an error; after you answer yes, the previous values can only be restored by hand.
- “Signal skipped: the LINEAR signal has no valid stop-loss and the bot is configured to skip such signals…” — the default protection at work; see the “no SL” policy.
