Conservative, Balanced and Aggressive profiles
A profile is a ready-made set of three settings of a futures Grid bot: leverage, margin type and trailing. Instead of opening three screens you pick a profile with one button.
What it is
| Profile | Leverage | Margin | Trailing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 📐 Conservative | x1 | ISOLATED | off |
| ⚖️ Balanced | x2 | CROSS | on, pump protection 3 % |
| 🔥 Aggressive | x5 | CROSS | on, pump protection 5 % |
| 🛠️ Custom | — | — | every parameter is set by hand |
A profile changes only these three parameters. The trigger, the Stop-Loss, the active window and Trailing-Down are set by separate buttons and do not depend on the profile.
Where it is in the bot
Main menu → 🪜 Grid Bots → ➕ Create Grid Bot → the confirmation screen (step 6) → the 🛠️ Profile: Custom button. The button exists only for a bot on Bybit Futures: on spot the leverage is always x1, margin and trailing do not apply, so there are no profiles there.
How to set it up
- On the confirmation screen tap 🛠️ Profile: Custom. The screen “🎯 Grid bot profile” opens with the line “Current profile: Custom” and a description of every set.
- Tap 📐 Conservative, ⚖️ Balanced or 🔥 Aggressive. The bot answers, for example: “✅ Balanced profile applied: x2, CROSS, 3% trailing.” — and returns you to the confirmation screen, where the buttons already show the new values: ⚡ Leverage: x2, ⚖️ Margin: CROSS, 🔄 Trailing: ON (pump protection 3%).
- If you want to change one value out of the set — just open the button you need (for example ⚡ Leverage: x2) and set your own. The profile does not have to be reset.
- The 🛠️ Custom button brings back the manual mode: “✅ Profile reset to Custom. Configure each step manually.”
Keep in mind: Aggressive sets x5 leverage, while the leverage screen warns: “We recommend x1—x3 for beginners; use x5+ only with experience”. Nothing stops you from choosing Aggressive for the trailing and then lowering the leverage with the ⚡ Leverage button.
Example with a calculation
A Long grid on BTCUSDT (futures): range 60,000 — 66,000, 20 levels of 6 USDT, that is “Total in grid: 120 USDT”. The bot checks the balance by the formula: amount per level × levels ÷ leverage, plus a 10 % buffer.
| Profile | Leverage | Required balance | What else changes in the summary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative | x1 | 120 × 1.1 = 132 USDT | ISOLATED: only the grid deposit is locked for it |
| Balanced | x2 | 120 / 2 × 1.1 = 66 USDT | the line “⚠️ Estimated liquidation: ~$… (-…% from average)” appears and, until a Stop-Loss is set, the warning “Cross margin without Stop-Loss” |
| Aggressive | x5 | 120 / 5 × 1.1 = 26.4 USDT | the same, but the estimated liquidation is closer to the range |
The volume of the grid is the same in all three cases — 120 USDT; the leverage changes only how much of your own money is frozen for it and how close the liquidation price is.
Limits and allowed values
| Parameter | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Where available | Bybit Futures only | on spot there is no profile button |
| Leverage after a profile | x1 / x2 / x5 | can be changed to anything from 1 to 20 |
| Pump protection | 3 % / 5 % | can be changed within 0.1–20 % |
| Default profile | Custom | fills in nothing |
Common mistakes and what the bot says
- You cannot find the profile button — you are creating a bot on spot. Only the trigger, the Stop-Loss, the active window and Infinity Grid are available there.
- “⚠️ Warning: Cross margin without Stop-Loss. If the position goes deep into the negative, liquidation will affect the entire account (including balances of other bots). Recommended: either switch to Isolated, or set a Stop-Loss.” — a line in the summary after Balanced or Aggressive. It is not a refusal: set a Stop-Loss or switch the margin to ISOLATED.
- “Insufficient balance for the Grid. Required: ~132 USDT…” — with Conservative the whole grid amount plus the buffer is required; reduce the amount per level or the number of levels.
